Good Golly Miss Molly!

This beautiful girl is Molly. She is a Western New York doggie that came to us when her owner was no longer able to care for her.

Molly is a “Chiweenie” (chihuahua/dachshund mix) who is approximately 2 years old. Still waters run deep is a solid description of our Miss Molly. Molly’s original home was a quiet place – she had her immediate human family and one doggie sister. She is a little overwhelmed (but still very excited!) by this brand-new world she finds herself in. So many bright colors! Loud noises! New smells! And people – so many people everyplace! She is still finding her way.

Molly’s signature is certainly those big ears, one up & one down. Always – one up, one down. Even when she is sleeping! She is a deep chocolate brown with a sleek black racing stripe down the middle of her back. Her fur is thick and soft, and once she is comfortable, she loves to be cuddled and petted. It takes Molly a few minutes to warm up, but this is getting better every day she is in her foster home. She will bark if she hears something she feels is important, just as any good watchdog will do. She is not, however, a big nuisance barker. She will say her piece, and you do whatever you wish with that information. She told you – now you figure it out. She is often just quietly observing her surroundings, taking everything in and learning from it.

Molly loves to go outside and knows to potty outside. She is also using potty pads inside since her foster mom works. Molly is not leash trained and will require a fenced-in yard.

Molly is challenged by hardwood floors. She will place a paw, pull it back. Perhaps even work up to both front feet on the hardwood, but both back feet will be secure on carpet or tile or even a dog bed. It will take several attempts – and you can see her gathering her courage before each try – before she will take off at a full gallop to cross the hardwood space as quickly as possible. There is no grace involved here, it is full speed ahead with sliding paws and a tumbling butt. She is determined to make it across. This is improving in her foster home since she wants to be on the living room couch with her family and there is no other way to get there. It is a work in progress.

Molly is a beautiful girl with a loving soul. She is a deep thinker, trying to learn a new faster-paced life. She is very smart and wants to please her people. She is a young dog with a young spirit working to catch up with a new, active lifestyle that awaits her. She has what it takes, even if she doesn’t know it herself yet. She has not been tested with cats or children. At our meet & greet events, she has done well with kids, but there were no children in her original home or in her current foster home. She is ready to begin her new life – she just needs to find the home to offer her the opportunity to grow into the beauty she is meant to be.

Molly is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $400
