Ruby Red came to us very pregnant from Texas after her human mom, unfortunately, passed away.  She gave birth to her 8 beautiful Rainbow Puppies on October 19th!  Mom is a Chiweenie and we do not know what dad was.  She is about 12 lbs!  We do not know for sure how big the babies will be Full-grown but most seem to be following her lead.

The puppies were born in rescue and have been well cared for and loved.  All 8 have been healthy, happy, and energetic pups! Mom has an amazing temperament and although we do not know who dad is, the puppies seem to have taken after her. The pups love other dogs and have been exposed to kids whom they loved as well.  As a pack, they are very confident!  They “attack” everyone who comes to see them with tons of kisses!  They love nothing more than to sit with someone and soak up as much love as possible.

We have recently started separating them from each other for small amounts of time during the day.  We are trying to give them some one-on-one time, get to know them individually, and prepare them for their forever homes without their siblings.  In such a large pack it is easy for them to lose their identity and to depend on one another.  Some are doing better than others but please be prepared for a few long nights and a lot of crying as they adjust to their new lives without their siblings.

These puppies can be a little vocal. They are good at barking and sometimes howling when they are unhappy or need something from you.  Due to the weather, they have had limited time outside (however most of them do love to be out there for short periods) so we have pee pad trained them.  Although there have been some accidents of course they are surprisingly doing very well.

Rusty (Red) is an adorable little guy with a curly tail (who knows where he got that from lol).  Rusty is the least people-oriented and by that I mean the others are obsessed with their foster family, lap time, cuddles, and affection He is probably a more normal puppy in that he is usually looking for a good time, something to get into, and something to play with.  He still likes to sit in their laps but only after everyone is tuckered out and there is literally nothing else to do.   Rusty is very confident and extremely smart.  He knows what no means, outside and time for bed.  He looks right at you and although he doesn’t always listen he knows those words are meant for him- the others do not.  He is a little tough in play so if he does go with another dog it will have to be someone who can handle him.

The puppies have had a great start in life with no negative experiences so far.  They have good temperaments like their mama and have known nothing but love from both dogs and people alike. They will require all puppy training as it is impossible to train 8 dogs at once so please make sure you have the time and patience to put into them.  They are blank slates and will depend on you to make them great family dogs.

If you think Rusty or any of his siblings are a match for you please apply!

Rusty is neutered, up to date with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated.  His adoption fee is $400
