Ladies and Gentlemen: Please welcome to the ring our “Champion Puppies”!  Against all odds, they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat!

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows.  It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”     -Rocky Balboa, 2006

Dumped at a high-kill shelter in Texas, Mama Willow struggled to feed and protect her pups.  Rescued hours before they were scheduled for death, this little family was whisked off to Buffalo to start a new life.  Shortly after arrival, Mama Willow was diagnosed with Parvo, a vicious and deadly disease – easily prevented by a vaccine she was never given.  Her pups were taken from her for their own safety as she fought for her life in the vet hospital.  The pups were very small and the vet informed us that there was a high chance that all of the pups would be dead within the next 48 hours.

The puppies were closely monitored in their foster home.  Daily trips to the vet for antibiotic injections.  Bottle feedings every 2 hours.  Isolated in a spare room with extra heaters for they were too small to regulate their own body temperature.  After several stressful, high-risk weeks, they grew strong.  The vets were astonished that all of them had survived!  Although exposed to Parvo through their mother, somehow none of them actually contracted the deadly disease.  These pups were hit hard and kept moving forward.  Like Sylvester Stallone said - that is what winning looks like!

Mama Willow is a Dachshund  (and maybe beagle?) mix and weighs about 25 lbs. now that she is becoming healthy again.  With the breed of the father unknown, we anticipate these pups to grow into mid-sized dogs.

This beauty is Ludmilla Vladimirovna Vobet-Drago, and in Rocky 4 she is married to boxing champion Captain Ivan Drago.  She was played by gorgeous actress (once married to Sylvester Stallone) Brigitte Nielsen.  We call our gorgeous pup “Milla” for short.  Milla has longer, fluffier hair than her siblings.  She has striking blue eyes and freckles on her pink nose.  She is the queen of cuddling.  She wants to be carried, held, and snuggled all the time.  She can be a vocal girl – when she has an opinion on something, you are certainly going to hear it! Obviously, a girl has to speak her mind loudly when surrounded by 4 brothers!  She will not be lost in the pack.  She is the most adventurous, the most curious.  She wants to be every place and learn everything at once.  She wants it all – and like all strong women, she isn’t going to stop until she achieves her goals.

As a puppy she is a blank slate – she is a sponge absorbing everything around her at all times.  She will need training to be her best self.  Please be patient while she is learning – she is still a baby and was taken from her mom very early in her life.  Her life experiences are fragmented, rough around the edges, and unpolished.  She needs love, attention, and patience so she can truly become the beautiful dog she is meant to be.

Milla is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated.  Her spay is scheduled for July 22nd and will be the responsibility of the adopter to take her- therefore we are requiring a spay/neuter contract to be signed at the time of adoption (the cost of the spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee and fully explained in the contract).  Her adoption fee is $400
