LT is a very snuggly, loving and an extremely loyal dog.  He is a 4 year old chihuahua (possibly dachshund) mix and just over 10 Pounds.  He was surrendered with his son and found to be Heart worm positive.  He has since been treated and is otherwise a healthy dog.  He will need to remain on heart worm preventative for his lifetime but it’s fairly inexpensive. 

LT loves everyone he meets and loves to get attention from anyone who will give it to him.  He is fostered with other dogs and has been totally fine.  You can tell by his face he was picked on by someone in his old home but he has been nothing but kind to everyone here. 

LT is pretty laid back.  He is not a ton of energy and prefers to lay with you on the couch more then anything else.  He is crate trained but he does bark if left alone for a long time.  We are not sure he would do well in an apartment. 

He was recently neutered and struggled with marking in his foster home.  He wore a belly band for quite a while but it has been off for weeks now and he has done wonderful with a doggy door and fenced yard.  Please expect accidents in a new home until he has a chance to adjust.

LT is quite the watch dog outside and needs to be reminded that he does not need to bark at EVERYTHING but anyone who has owned a chihuahua or dachshund will totally know what we mean.  Inside he is fairly quiet and spends hours snuggled on the couch. 

LT has been around children and is very loving and kind.  He has been on a leash a few times and will need some more practice in his forever home. 

He likes blankets and when you are folding them or making the bed you will see a little playfulness come out as he thinks that’s a great game! 

Typical of his breed he hates his nails cut but if you are slow and patient he will begrudgingly allow it.  Tasty treats during and after make it all worth while and he gets better and better every time.
