Learn more about the Cockapoo.

Please meet Cesar!  Cesar is just under two years old and he is a 10 lb. poodle mix, we are guessing with cocker spaniel since his face is all cocker when he’s wet. Cesar traveled here from Texas where the home he was living in was not a good match for this timid boy.

Cesar is really shy at first and it’s important to approach him slowly when you first meet him and while he’s getting to know you. Once he trusts you, he will be your most faithful friend. He loves belly rubs, playing fetch, cuddling, being carried, and more belly rubs. Cesar has been walking well on a leash using a harness and he loves going for walks and rides. He has a lot of energy, so he will need lots of activity and he may even be a good jogging partner. He does well with other small dogs and knows how to play nicely. He is almost potty trained, however there are times when he gets really excited, such as when someone comes home from work, he will piddle a little.

Cesar does have some separation anxiety when he’s left at home alone or even with a companion dog. He is not destructive, just cries and barks when left alone.  Therefore apartments/condos/townhouses will not be considered for him.  He will not cry if  he is crated and you are home though.  He has medication for times when he’s really anxious.

Cesar is a love bug! He loves to snuggle up in bed at night with his foster mom. He does well with baths, and in fact it’s usually easier to get things that cling to his fur out, like leaves, by giving him a bath than by pulling them out, especially if they’re near his butt or paws, which are sensitive areas for him.  Cesar will require regular grooming throughout his life so please keep that in mind if you are considering adopting him.

An all-female, relatively quiet household with a fenced in backyard would be ideal (no electric or invisible fences though). Homes with older children will be considered. He does not do well with men so we will not be considering homes with males living there full time.

Cesar is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.   His adoption fee is $400
