"I fought the law and the law won!" is the soundtrack of Nolan's life!  He was a fugitive on the loose, running from the cops. When they finally caught up with him, he resisted arrest and was thrown in the klink!  No one came to bail him out and everyone decided that a halfway house was his best option.   He needed some attitude adjustment lol.  So here he is!  All adjusted and ready for his new crime free life!  Nolan is about 1 year old and we believe he is a Japenese Chin and Shih Tzu mix.  He weighs 9 pounds.

Nolan was a project for his foster mom.  He certainly did not trust people and all of this was based on fear we think.  He was terrified of the leash, having his collar touched and being picked up. We cannot imagine what his life was like before he came to - we are just glad he got away from it.    Once Nolan's foster got him to trust her, he opened right up.  He likes to be pet and picked up now - he still shows some nervousness but he relaxes.  We can put his collar on and off now.  He is still unsure of the leash - we can put it on and off but he does not want to walk on it.  A fully fenced yard will be required for Nolan - no electric or invisible fences though.  Nolan is very active and playful. He loves other playful dogs. He loves to be outdoors too - no matter the weather!  He is ok with cats, he play chases them and wants to wrestle but no harm meant.  Nolan is crate trained.  He is doing well on his housetraining but occasionally marks.  He stops when his foster mom tells him no.  He is very close to being fully housetrained.  He is newly neutered so please expect some adjustment time and accidents.  Another dog would be wonderful for Nolan.  He has not been exposed to children in his foster home.  If you think you can keep Nolan on the right side of the law, please fill out an application!
