Good things come in small packages!  This is the case with our Dotty, who recently came to us when her owner was no longer able to take care of her.  She is just over 5 lbs. and 8 years old.  Her fur is thick and dark brown, with some fabulous brindle tones mixed in.  She has a gorgeous white mask on her face – perfectly placed to go with her small-but-mighty-superhero personality!

She is a delicate flower with huge, soulful eyes.  She may appear to be timid or shy when you first meet her.  She warms up once she has been properly introduced and then she will want to be your partner 24 hours a day! She loves to be near her people, possibly cuddling into your shoulder from the back of the couch or perhaps in your lap.  She has no problem using potty pads while her foster mom is at work, but also knows to potty outside when she is outdoors.  She is working on leash training – her previous mom had a fenced in yard and just let her out for bathroom breaks, so the leash & harness are new and a little intimidating right now.  But she is getting better every day!

Due to her small size, she can do a few steps, but an entire flight is probably unrealistic for her little legs – she certainly wouldn’t mind being carried!  She has now become an expert at navigating the 2 steps into her foster mom’s house from outside AND the step from the kitchen into the living room.    She does well with the other foster dogs in the house and holds her ground – not getting lost in the daily shuffle due to her smallish self.  She eats well & sleeps through the entire night, usually burrowed under the blankets or sandwiched between the pillows.  She is not a barker and behaves well when company comes over.   She doesn’t mind getting a bath – no struggles to get out of the sink or fear of the sprayer when it is time for a rinse.  She also did great when she had her nails clipped at the grooming salon. 

Still waters run deep – and there is so much love under the surface of this tiny fur baby.  She just needs the right home to bring it out.  

Dotty is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $250
