Oh Gus Gus what a sweet lad! Gus is about 2 years old and a sturdy 22 pounds!  He is a  "Schnoodle" - a poodle/schnauzer mix.  Gus loves everyone he meets! Gus once had a family to call his own but is need of a new one.

Gus was surrendered to a local shelter because his family thought he was in liver failure and could no longer afford his medication.  While he was in the shelter they did blood work on him and it did show some abnormalities so they determined he needed an ultrasound.  Since that is not something they are able to do in a shelter they reached out to rescue for help.  Having taken many dogs like Gus before we had no problem stepping in!  An appointment was set up right away with Dr. Tamke and she said he is not in liver failure.  Gus has what she describes as a sluggish liver but is an otherwise normal healthy little dog.  Gus will need to stay on the medication to help things move along in his gallbladder and liver but should do just fine with no further intervention.  These medications are fairly inexpensive and easily obtainable so please don’t let that deter you from adopting him.  

Gus is a sweet loving guy who is full of energy! He gets along great with other dog and kids! Man does he love the kiddos!! He would love a yard to run in, but he’s also good on a leash. Gus basic commands such as sit and come. He is crate trained and mostly housebroken. You just have to take him out and Gus knows exactly what to do.  Gus is friendly and well mannered, he is a couch potato but likes to go for walks too!  He would make a great family dog.  

Gus is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated, tested neg. for heartworm.  He will need regular grooming throughout his life so please take that into consideration.  His adoption fee is $350
