Sweet old Riley.  Riley is a 13 year old Japanese Chin.  He came to us as an owner surrender.  No longer wanted after a move and in desperate need of medical care.  Riley's teeth were so badly infected that the infection carried throughout his body and he was very very ill.  He touched our hearts and we knew that we were not going to let this boy down.  We took him in as soon as possible and had all but 3 his teeth pulled and he is now feeling like a million bucks!

Riley is a gentle boy.  He is quiet and likes to sleep the day away.  A quiet home will be best - nothing rambunctious.  He can go up a few stairs but needs help going down.  Riley will pee outside and can hold it until he is taking out.  Poop not so much but if you have to clean one of them up, I guess the poop is easier lol.  He is not much for cuddling but his foster mom is working with him.  He can be held for short bits but then wants to go back to his bed and day dream!  Riley is getting braver and more confident every day.  We believe it is because he is feeling better with all the love and attention his foster mom showers on him!  Riley isn't asking for a lot, just a stable home to care for him in his senior years.  Don't we all want that for our pets and ourselves?  Can you imagine your dog being dumped after loving it for so many years?  Never.  So if you have a soft spot for the old, the ones that need us more now than ever, please apply.  

Riley is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg for heartworm.  Riley has been given a dental.  He has eye issues too and will need ongoing care.  His eyes were so neglected for so long he lost some vision so he will need them cleaned daily.   He has also been groomed which he desperately needed and really enjoyed.  His adoption fee is only $75 - Please consider helping Riley.  This is true rescue.
