Dear old Franklin.  This sweet gent was found tied to a picnic table with a note "Free - Take me home!  My owner died".  Well once we got wind of this, we hurried to the shelter that had him and took him home!  Franklin is about 12 years old and 53 pounds - a wondrous Basset Hound! 

Franklin is a slow in the go kinda dog - no hurry to get anywhere!  He is leash trained and is house trained.  He loves everyone he meets, friendly and affectionate.  We believe his past owner was a man as he prefers the company of his foster dad over his foster mom (she tries so hard too!).  Franklin is good with other dogs.  He will occasionally chase the cat or a small animal outside but it is all for show - he just want you to know he was a hunting dog once!  Franklin knows basic commands.  He is a sweet gentle old guy that needs a place to live out his golden years - no old dog should be in a shelter!  

Franklin is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated, heartworm neg.  He has some fatty masses and a heart murmur but he is healthy for a 12 yr old dog.  He got a good once over by our vet and he is all ready to find his senior living home!  His adoption fee is $175 - please apply online if you are interested in adopting old Frank!
