Sawyer is a 4 year old yorkie/terrier mix, very scruffy looking boy!  He was a stray dog, spotted wandering the neighborhood in the beginning of spring.  He had a rope tied to him that was chewed through.  It looked like he was tied up somewhere and left!  The people in the area tried to catch Sawyer and left food and water out for him when they could not.  FINALLY at the very end of fall, just when it started to get too cold, he was caught!  The kind man took him in and to the vet to make sure he was healthy.  Eventually Sawyer made it to Pixie Mamas.  We got him vetted and started working with him.  He was so scared at first and just wanted to hide in a cubby.  We took our time with him and got him to trust us.  It helped to have the other dogs around showing him that not all humans are bad!  Although he was scared, he always let us pick him up and was never aggressive.  Soon he was wandering the yard wagging his tail - we no longer had to pick him up to bring him inside.  He wanted to come in where it was warm and safe!  Sawyer is now part of the pack at his foster home.  He comes when called, is crate trained and plays with the toys and other dogs!  He is ok on a leash but should have a fenced yard so he can be more comfortable.  Sawyer needs a family or person that understands what he has been through and is willing to give him time and patience.  He is a sweet boy, affectionate and wants to be loved.  He is really a good dog! 

Sawyer is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and heartworm neg.  He also had a dental!  His adoption fee is $200.  Please apply online if you are interested in making this great dog part of your family for the holidays!
